I’d been tasked with keeping my dog away from water for a fortnight until an ear infection had cleared. So when I took him into the valley yesterday he was clearly ready for it.
At the start of the walk, I spotted a displaced glove lying next to a set of keys on a large stone. Most likely dropped nearby and left in sight for however may return to collect them. An interesting image either way.
I came across a couple who were stood fixed upon a point in the distance. They showed me a small herd of deer, I’d completely missed! Unfortunately, my telephoto lens was at home.
Later on the walk I came across the local farmer. He explained difficulties he had had with careless dog walkers during lambing, with horrendous consequences. He explained one incident where lambs were ripped out of their mothers stomach. ”Its only a lamb”, was their defence.
After a good two hours, and about a ten thousand stick chases, the little fella was spent. We walked back to the car, with the keys still laying un-retrieved.

Last week, Countryfile featured dog attacks on pregnant sheep. ..good reminder to keep control of the dogs! Keys and gloves seem a little ominous :-0

Ah I missed that. Such a shame for the farmers, and unnecessary stress for the other sheep. Bet the keys are still there! I love stuff like that 🙂
