After reading a recent issue of Digital Camera magazine, I decided I should really start to take my photo editing a bit more seriously.
I came across this shot and thought it would look great converted to monochrome. It was taken in RAW with my Canon 1200D while we were out in a local woods.
I spent a bit more time on the conversion than I normally would, and with a few new insights, I was quite happy with the result.
I think black and white images are most impressive when you set your camera to monochrome in shot, and you begin to tune in and look for shadows and patterns which would work at the time. I’ve been doing this recently, so will probably post some more monochrome shots in the near future.
With Paddy briefly out of action after his snip, I have a bit of freedom to explore the local haunts in peace!
